From the very beginning, Charlotte and Curtis knew that their wedding day would be something extraordinary — not just a single day of celebration, but a once-in-a-lifetime experience shared with the people they love most.

“We’ve always loved our holidays and knew we wanted to get married in the sunshine. We also loved the idea of all our loved ones being on a once-in-a-lifetime group trip with us to celebrate — and to extend the wedding beyond just one day!”

When searching for their dream destination, Charlotte and Curtis stumbled upon Swan Lake, and it was love at first sight.

“It literally looked like the most perfect, fairytale wedding setting. Every other venue we came across just didn’t seem to level up — our bar was set once we found this one.”

They instantly knew that a destination wedding required experienced guidance, and when they discovered Veil & Véu, everything fell into place.

The ladies were a dream to work with — quick, attentive, and incredibly detailed. We can honestly say we didn’t feel stressed at any point during planning, and that’s all thanks to the amazing team at V&V.”

Choosing Swan Lake was effortless once they saw it. The venue’s breathtaking scenery, elegant architecture, and fairytale atmosphere captured their hearts immediately.

“It was completely different to anything we’d ever seen — abroad or in the UK. We wanted to offer our guests an experience that justified travelling, and we strongly believe we did.”

The couple embraced a classic, timeless white theme, featuring gypsophila, white roses, elegant table settings, and soft candlelight. They wanted a look that was both traditional and modern — a perfect reflection of Swan Lake’s serene yet contemporary feel.

“We wanted a clean, elegant, timeless feel to our day, but with a twist of modern — which the layout of the venue certainly provided.”

Guests travelled from the UK and UAE to join the couple under the Portuguese sunshine. Every detail was curated to create an unforgettable experience — from food and cocktails to live entertainment that carried the celebration from daylight to sunset and beyond.

The couple’s signature cocktails — a frozen mango daiquiri and a classic pornstar martini — were a huge hit. Guests couldn’t stop talking about the food, with many admitting they were too full to try it all!

The music and entertainment became a true highlight of the day. A live violinist accompanied the ceremony, followed by a saxophonist at sunset hour, creating a magical, feel-good atmosphere that guests are still talking about.

“Nobody wanted sunset hour to end — the vibes were incredible, and everyone’s faces were beaming.”

The same-day edit film was another standout moment. Watching their wedding highlights on the big screen surrounded by family and friends created an unforgettable shared memory.

“After a few drinks, everyone was delighted to watch themselves on the big screen! It was such a special touch.”

“Everything! It’s so hard to choose,” Charlotte says.
“Seeing each other for the first time during the ceremony was magical. The sunset hour — letting loose in the sunshine with all our loved ones — was something we’ll never forget. And the cake cutting… it was the perfect way to close the day before the party really began!”

To round off their wedding weekend, Charlotte and Curtis hosted an intimate post-celebration dinner at Torre de Gomariz Wine & Spa Hotel, where the food and service were, in their words, ‘10/10’.

“Sophie from V&V organised everything — it felt like we didn’t have to do a thing. She completely understood what we wanted and took care of it all. So many of our guests commented on how professional and helpful she was — we couldn’t have asked for better.”

Charlotte shared a particularly touching moment that highlighted just how invaluable having Veil & Véu on hand truly was.

“I started to feel like I might be getting a migraine — probably from the heat — and Sophie was incredible. She stayed by my side, brought me electrolytes, helped me take off my shoes, and kept checking if I needed anything. It honestly felt like having a fairy godmother with me! She ensured everything ran seamlessly so that nobody even noticed a thing.”

Charlotte and Curtis are now counting down the days to their honeymoon in December 2025, where they’ll celebrate married life in Dubai and the Maldives — a dreamy finale to their fairytale journey.
