Real Bride Holly shares her story on how she found her dream wedding venue, why she chose V&V and her experience as a 2024 bride!

Fountain Lane, was the Venue, August was the wedding month & Veil & Véu were the wedding planners.

How did you find the venue and what made you fall in Love with it?

I was 8 weeks post partum, scrolling through Instagram and an old friend was attending a wedding at Swan Lake. I had never seen a venue like it and immediately messaged her asking where it was and said how amazing it looked! She replied and said “its my cousins wedding, I’ve never been to a wedding like it before”. She told me they had booked it all with Veil & Veu.

I immediately reached out to Natalie and Tania to book a video call, wondering if it was all too good to be true! We liked what we discovered and wanted to see if the venue really was as good as it looked! So we booked our flights for a quick 24hr visit to Portugal. We visited Swan Lake and loved it. We were asked if we wanted to visit the sister venue “Fountain Lane”. We hadn’t really thought much about it as we were just talking and focusing on Swan Lake, however when we pulled into the entrance of Fountain Lane I knew it was going to be a tricky decision.

Fountain Lane gave me all the feels that I wanted to feel when choosing our wedding venue. Nothing could compare to it, and we chose Fountain Lane as we felt it totally suited our personalities. From the arched windows, all the glass, the beautiful architecture in each room, the outdoor area and the fountains on the approach, it was simply perfect. I wish I could have been on the coaches that took the guests to the venue as everyone said when they pulled up to the gates at Fountain Lane, their jaws were on the floor, it really is stunning.

How was your experience working with Veil & Véu?

I really wanted to work with people who were just themselves. I am an open and honest person but also a bit of a control freak. I love to organise a party or a get together and have quite a thing for attention to detail and making sure everything is “perfect”. I always felt myself with Natalie and Tania. I felt I could ask any question. Any request I had, they would think through with me and then look at the pros and cons, telling me what’s worked well in the past. I really did trust them and we built a great relationship.

The suppliers they work with are amazing, and make sure the day is so special. We used the DJ’s the day before too and I was worried they would they play the same songs on the wedding day but they totally made me feel at ease and assured me it would be a different vibe, which it was. The venue staff are impeccable, you cannot fault them, everything from the service, the food, the drinks, the staff. They are a credit to the venue.

Would you recommend Fountain Lane and V&V wedding planners to other brides?

100%, I really did think it was all too good to be true but it really wasn’t. On our wedding day, even though I had planned everything with the V&V team and knew what was coming I was still blown away and just kept saying to everyone “I cannot believe this is our day, its everything I have ever dreamed of and more”. Your wedding day should be a day you’ll never forget and planning your day with Veil and Véu will most certainly be that.
